1. Baking small and large loaves of bread: The Sana Smart Bread Maker can handle bread between 500 and 1800 g. There are no size restrictions for different sizes. You can bake a small loaf for yourself today, and tomorrow you can bake for a family of five.
2. Gluten-free baking: Although the Sana doesn’t have a dedicated gluten-free program, its flexibility means it can handle all kinds of dietary requirements, including gluten-free. Because it is fully-programmable, it can be adjusted to fit any recipe.
3. Yogurt preparation: Thanks to the Sana’s “fermentation” program, you can make yogurt, kefir, and other fermented milk products. Because of its fully-adjustable temperature settings, the Sana can handle any fermented culture, not just yogurt.
4. Baking small and large loaves of bread: Other bread machines with a yogurt program are limited to one pre-selected temperature which cannot be changed. This limits them to just yogurt, unlike the Sana.
5. Traditional soy cheeses such as tempeh, natto, etc.: The “fermentation” program allows you to prepare these soy cheeses, which have recently become very popular due to their extraordinary health benefits. The Sana is available with an optional dedicated tempeh maker, which you won’t find in any other machine.
6. Jams: Most home bread machines have a “jam” setting. However, only the Sana has fully adjustable settings for temperature, time, and mixing speed. In addition, this setting can be used to prepare lard and cracklings, roasted teas, porridges and more. The infinite adjustability lets you try all kinds of new recipes.
7. Lard and cracklings: Thanks to the fully adjustable “jam” program, the Sana can easily prepare home-made lard and cracklings.
8. Amasaké: The “fermentation” program can be used to prepare Amasaké. Commonly made from fermented rice, this natural sweetner can be used as a sugar substitute, or as a delicious dessert.
9. Sourdough starter: It is possible to make sourdough starter at home, but because temperatures are constantly changing it can be difficult. The Sana provides a constant temperature to allow the growth and fermentation of sourdough starter. It can be set to the exact temperature required by the bacteria in different starters, which can vary between 27 and 37 ˚C. Using the “fermentation” program makes it an easy process, and guarantees you fresh and healthy bread.
10. Preset programs: Every home bread machine besides the Sana has preset programs. While this can be convenient, it can also be very limiting. The Sana allows for complete adjustability of temperature, time, and mixing speeds. This allows you to bake anything you want, and not be restricted to a few preset programs.
11. Fully customizable programs: While you can choose from default programs in the Sana, each of them are fully customizable according to time, temperature, and mixing speed. Because of this, you can use any recipe you like, and not be limited to just a few. While most home machines only offer high-temperature, low time baking, with the Sana you can use low-temperatures at longer times which can produce healthier bread.
12. Precise temperature settings: No other bread machine allows you to set the temperature to an accuracy of 1 ˚C.
13. Meat preparation and pasteurization: You can actually use the Sana like a microwave to heat or reheat foods. This is also useful if you need to pasteurize something - raw milk, for example. You can set the Sana for low-temperature slow pasteurization of high-temperature fast pasteurization.
14. High-temperature baking: Most bread machines only allow for high-temperature baking. While faster, this method can result in burnt crusts or unhealthy dry bread. The Sana allows for both high-temperature and low-temperature baking, or even multi-phase baking at both high and low tmperatures.
15. Low-temperature baking: The Sana Smart Bread Maker specializes in low-temperature baking. Not only does this make healthier bread, but tastier bread too. You can also cook wonderfully juicy meat and fish at low temperatures.
16. Mixing rye dough: Rye dough is characterized by its stiff texture which can be hard for most machines to handle. The Sana has no problem with it, and you can easily work with even wholegrain rye flours.
17. Passive steam cooking: The Sana doesn’t have a built-in steam maker. Instead, it uses the steam produced when preparing “wet” foods. By using glass lids, the Sana uses the natural juices in meats and fish to produce amazingly juicy results. And unlike steam machines, the Sana doesn’t leave a wet mess to clean up.
18. Three kneading speeds: Every recipe needs its own mixing speed. For example, the best jam is made using a slow mixing speed, while stiff dough needs a stronger kneading speed. The Sana lets you set the kneading according to the recipe.
19. Upgradeable software: The Sana will never get old, and not just because of its durable stainless steel construction. It has a built-in chip that can be used to record or enter new programs. When a new idea or recipe is created, you don’t need to replace the Sana. Just update it with the new program.
20. Locking/unlocking buttons: Do you have curious children (or maybe a curious cat) that likes to get into things they shouldn’t? Once your program is set, you can lock the buttons so that it isn’t accidently altered or reset.
21. Baguette maker: For delicious baguettes, you don’t need to move to France. You can make them yourself with the baguette maker attachment. Included with the “Exclusive” model, the baguette maker can be purchased serperately for other Sana models. It can also be used as a holder for tempeh bowls, or be inverted and used as a base for pans or containers (for example, when making yogurt
22. Tempeh maker: The Sana has a unique tempeh maker which cannot be found anywhere else. You no longer need to prepare tempeh in sheets, which can be difficult to do successfully. The tempeh maker is included in the “Exclusive” model, and can be purchased separately for the other models
23. Energy saving glass lid: No other bread machines come with an energy saving glass lid. This not only reduced power consumption by up to 33%, but also speeds up cooking, makes bread firmer, and meat more juicy. Just make sure not to use it when making fruit or jams, since they can spill over the sides.
24. Stainless steel pan and kneading:Stainless steel is safe and virtually indestructible. No other machines offer you the choice of stainless steel, in addition to Teflon. Thanks to our sophisticated technology, you can be sure that you won’t end up with burned bread.
25. Teflon pan and kneading blades: The Sana “Basic” model comes with a Teflon pan. This is a less-expensive option for those who don’t want to invest in stainless steel, or who will not bake so often and don’t need the durability of stainless steel. However, the stainless steel pan and kneading set can be purchased separately if you wish to upgrade in the future
26. Basic needle thermometer: This is a great tool for baking and cooking. You can see if your bread is ready, or if your yogurt or amasaké are at the proper temperature. It is also vital when making tempeh, as you need to know exact temperatures.
27. Multi-function needle thermometer: This thermometer has enhanced functionality. It can monitor whatever you are preparing, and alert you with a signal when the desired temperature is reached. It also has a built-in timer.
28. Stainless steel body): Stainless steel is safe and extremely durable, so you can be sure the Sana will last practically forever. On the other hand, plastic bread machines are both more likely to break and can also release potentially carcinogenic compounds under high temperatures.
29. Optional parts and accessories: Did you break or lose something? Or maybe you bought the “Basic” model and would like to upgrade it? With Sana, all the accessories are available separately so you can replace or customize your machine according to your needs.
